Matt & Madeleine: The Blushing Bride

Madeleine is one of our favorite brides this year. Not only does she have the personality of someone you feel like you have known forever but her hidden talents are displayed all throughout this wedding day's design. Sweet hues of white and blush were complimented with a beautiful bright teal color that popped against our Event Center's rustic setting. Matt & Madeleine's vows were exchanged in our beautiful Loft with a white washed cross centerpiece making for the perfect chapel setting. The reception added in a soft gray into the pallet through the linens that made the floral arrangement centerpieces pop.

The Loft's setting is beautiful and angelic in and of itself. Our in house white-washed cross center with floral arrangements matching the bridesmaids bouquets was the perfect centerpiece for this beautiful union. The stairs behind were cascading with candlelight. Madeleine could not stop smiling as Matt looked on adoringly. Guests were welcomed in with a stunning hand painted sign done by our bride herself! Her talents did not stop there...keep scrolling for more!

The reception was held inside our Event Center hall. The rustic tones blended perfectly with the soft blushing details of decor. The floral arrangements were tied in with the perfect hanging monogram above the sweetheart table setting. Soft gray and white linens and splashes of gold mercury candlelight made the space romantic and classy.

Good times were had by all at Matt & Madeline's reception. The bride's calligraphy was throughout each place setting and on each place card. She poured her heart and soul into her big day and we were honored to be a part of it. Congratulations to you both!

Tip of the Hat to Derby Day!

There is not much that we love more than a theme party here at Legacy Farms. When the opportunity arose for us to be a part of the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce's annual Derby Day event we could not wait to be a part of it. Thoroughbreds, mint juleps, red roses, and fabulous hats were in attendance and the most entertaining two minutes was streamed so no one missed a second.

You cannot have a fabulous party without a fabulous menu. Thanks A Catered Affair, the food was a blue ribbon winner! Four different stations were set including a delicious biscuit bar, with bourbon marinated pork tenderloin and pimento cheese, a scrumptious appetizer station with baby hot brown bites, bourbon meatballs, and cheese grit shots.

As if that did not fulfill our guests derby day desires enough, we arranged a special dip station with pita chips and specialty crackers including black eyed pea salsa and Lima bean hummus. A dessert station was there to offer up a sweet follow up with adorable bourbon bites and julep cookie bars.

Some of our favorite pieces of decor were the amazing hats the guests adorned!

The decor was both appropriate and adorable. Award ribbons, red roses, horseshoes, saddles, candlelight and plenty of signature Legacy Farms' rustic touches filled the Event Center with a beautiful place for guests to enjoy the streaming of the race. The room was set with several framed photo touches from photography of Derby Day pasts reminding guests of the Derby's history.

The Event Center's patio was not complete without our property's beloved horse statue. This beauty was adorned with a red rose sash and ribbon of his own and made for the perfect setting for our guest's to sip their mint julep's next to.

We loved being a part of and hosting this event for our friends at the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce. A special thank you to our photographer J Ashley Kerr Photography for her photography contributions.

Sip, Savor & Style: The Spring Edition

The fresh blooms of Spring have been popping up all around us. The beautiful pops of color in Tennessee's flowers and bright greenery of the grass and trees inspired this Spring's Sip, Savor and Style in house event here at Legacy Farms.

Pink Champagne Margarita

Sparkling Champagne Lemonade Margarita

This specialty cocktail was as delicious as it was pretty. The pink lemonade allowed the cocktail glass to sparkle with a beautiful pale color, the champagne and tequila added just the right amount of fizz, the flavor was brought out with orange liqueur and a splash of cherry juice. We topped the glass with pink Himalayan salt and a garnished lemon wedge.

A Catered Affair, our in house caterer, had bellies full and people talking about all of the delicious items to choose from. Friendly wait staff passed Wild Mushroom Tarts & Chicken & Waffle Bites throughout the room.

The appetizer station WAS. A. SMASH. with its BBQ & Biscuit Bites, Pimento Cheese and Bacon Crostini, & Bourbon Spiked Meatballs.

The buffet was deliciously full of entree options including Herb Crusted Chicken, Chicken with Leeks & Apples, Brisket Pot Roast, Smoked Pork Loin, & Steak Romany. Our guests raved over the side options of our famous Oven Roasted Vegetables, Brown Butter Green Beans, Smashed Potatoes, & Lemon-Scented Basmati Rice.

The carving station brought our guests delicious options of Herb Roasted Turkey or Hickory Smoked turkey. These two cuts of meats were complimented perfectly with four tasty sauces to choose from: Whole Grain Honey Mustard, Herbed Aoili, Chipotle BBQ, & a Bourbon Cranberry Chutney and accompanied by fresh baked onion and sesame rolls.

Our rolling cart salad station was the perfect way to offer our current and future clients a way to taste all of their different salad dressing options. Those dressings displayed included our Blood Orange, White Balsamic Basil, Apple Cider, & Creamy Blue Cheese.

To add a little touch of sweet into the savory mix, we made a milk & cookies bar complete with multi-colored macaroons. Delicious and dangerous, as they are easy to lose track of how many you are eating!

Walk inside the Legacy Farm's Event Center and have a seat at our large "X" formation tables set full of bright flowers in beautiful starch white boxes, moss and eucalyptus with sprays of cherry blossoms peeking throughout, log slices holding our gold lanterns. Set your plate on top of a beautiful gold charger with your very own teal satin napkin from Graceful Tables and enjoy the endless light shining from a perfect wooden chandelier from Visual Elements and candlelight surrounding you.

Visual Elements provided this beautiful furniture line that made for the perfect cocktail hour display at the Pier. If cocktails and mingling were not of preference the rustic lemonade stand by the water was a perfect opportunity to enjoy a cold glass of lemonade while enjoying the beautiful views Legacy Farms has to offer. It was a beautiful day full of delicious treats and fellowship with some of the best in the industry and clients.

Special thank you to all of our favorite vendors for their contributions!

Mark + Lauren: Blush & Bashful

"Pink is my signature color" Julia Roberts said as she was describing her "blush & bashful" pallet for her wedding. That is where my love of the color pink began which is why I love a pink wedding done right! Lauren's style mixed with Legacy Farm's rustic setting made for the perfectly pink affair!

The blushing pink displayed on beautiful satin linens were accented with burgundy napkins, gold and silver mercury candles, and a spray of pink floral arrangements. We love the bunched runner on our in house farm tables. Perfect setting for a head table.

Lauren's bouquet was so lush with deep reds, pops of white and deep purple, with little sprays of greenery and bashful tones. Her shoes twinkled with beautiful pink sparkles matching one of her bridesmaids dresses that coordinated well with the dark pink and light pink tones of the other beauties dresses.

The Magic

This wedding day went off without a hitch. So much love surrounded this couple from both sides of their family. It was a beautiful union in and of itself without all of the blush and bashful details needed to complete it but we certainly did love them!

Special thanks to Openview Weddings for their photography contributions.

Our Five Favorite Favors

The hardest parts of your planning is over and now it is time to think about how to thank your guests for coming and sharing in your love. Favors do not have to break the bank to be received well by a crowd. Whether you personalize it to go with the theme of your wedding or give your guests a taste of something special, when it comes to giving a small token of your appreciation,

1. Let Love Grow

One favor that is sure to make your wedding last on your guests' minds is a favor they can keep and let grow themselves. Seed packets, small floral keepsakes, and even this adorable bamboo favor pictured is a great way to leave a lasting effect. The personalization potential and the look of them displayed on your guest tables is swoon worthy!

2. Edible Takeaways

Everybody loves an edible take away! You can offer your guests a small bag of refreshments that show you and your love are "mint to be" or have a gorgeous candy bar displayed for them to pick and choose what sweetness their heart desires. Anything effect left that is sweet on the pallet is a great one!

3. Cheers to Us!

Toasting glasses don't have to be just for the cake cutting ceremony. Personalizing a piece of glassware with your wedding date and names is a fun way to set your tables and give your guest a fun piece to add to their collection. Whether it's mason jars for the country chic couple, a wine glass for those who have a more sophisticated style or even a fun koozie "to have, to hold, and to keep your beer cold" your guests will love taking a sip and savoring every fun moment they had at your special day.

4. Sweeter than Honey.......

One of our favorite favors we have seen trending recently are homemade specialties. If your aunt cans the world's best jams, or grandma harvests the most delicious and pure honey, or you and your spouse can brew beer to charm a crowd, you can't go wrong with presenting your homemade thank you's to your guests.

5. Personalize your Love

Is there something you and your partner love to do as a couple? How did you meet or better yet, where did you meet? Show your guests the answer to these questions when you're on the hunt for the perfect favor. Play along with your theme or location of your wedding by incorporating an item that represents it, like this guitar pick- perfect for a Nashville themed nuptial!

Cameron + Emily: *Snow Much Love*

The first snowfall of 2017 in Tennessee brought us a winter wonderland wedding we will never forget. Hues of purple, silver, and white matched our sparkling snow covered property perfectly. The normal loft setting was reversed to give our favorite ceremony spot a brand new look. Candlelight and twinkling lights lit up the venue almost as much as our couple did.

*Getting Ready*

Emily and her girls stayed warm inside the Legacy Farms Manor by the fire as they were getting ready. Right outside the window was a snow covered ground awaiting the beautiful photos to come.

Emily stunned us with her beautiful sparkling gown and cathedral veil.

Emily stunned us with her beautiful sparkling gown and cathedral veil.

*The Bridal Party*

The bridesmaids dark purple dresses complimented their bouquets filled with silver dollar eucalyptus, purple carnations & lepto, Italian ruscus, and grey brunia berries.

*The Ceremony*

Our loft setting usually has the stairway as the backdrop for the ceremony. At this wedding we reversed the loft to have the rich and lush drapery, simple twig cylinders, and candlelight as the backdrop.

The ceremony was unplugged and perfect. Emily took Cameron's breath away when she walked down the aisle to him. They kept it light hearted and fun, sentimental and charming. This couple is a delightful match and that was evident throughout the ceremony.

*The Reception*

The reception had it all. A hot cocoa bar to keep warm, a delicious and hearty winter meal, an adorable and tasty table full of desserts and sweets, dancing and laughter and even a surprise performance from our couple to their guests.

Emily & Cameron's day was one we will always remember. A wintery dream with a beautiful couple who's love for each other could make anyone melt, but thankfully not the snow!

Morgan + Martin: A December to Remember

2016 was an incredible year full of amazing December weddings. One of our favorite couples to work with was Morgan & Martin Binhammer. From their adorable hashtag, #ItsBinhammerTime, to the unique way they chose to remember their unity, the details of this special day was one of our favorites.

~The Details~

Morgan's classic style was brought out perfectly with her choice of a beautiful ivory gown paired with Martin's navy and gray attire.

Morgan's bouquet full of lush white flowers had a few anemones peeking out. The navy painted billyballs added just the right amount of her accent color in to tie the day together. Martin's boutonniere did not disappoint and made for the right match to its partner.

~The First Look~

Are ya'll ready to cry?! This first look was PRECIOUS! When Martin saw his bride his reaction was absolutely priceless. We had to check to make sure Morgan didn't actually take his breath away. When we realized all was well, we enjoyed the moment as much as they did. Their love for each other is absolutely evident!

~The Ceremony~

One of the most unique things we have ever seen done at a couple's ceremony was a "glass unity." Morgan found a company called Unity in Glass that sends a couple different color options of glass to pour into a jar during the unity ceremony. The couple sent their glass back to them and they in turn sent them a beautiful glass sculpture as not only a beautiful reminder of their union together, but a statement piece in their home to talk about for years to come.

We love this idea! What a beautiful statement piece to keep forever.

We love this idea! What a beautiful statement piece to keep forever.

~The Reception~

One of our favorite surprises of the night was the groom's custom made Reece's cake. It smelled as good as it looked!  The reception itself was such a good time! The couple and their guests smiled throughout the entire evening. The dancing never stopped. The food from A Catered Affair was fantastic and Party Patrol Entertainment did not disappoint! The classic navy and ivory colors flowed well with the glam and silver sparkle accents throughout Legacy Farm's Event Center tables. Even the buffet was twinkling with our beautiful in house chandeliers floating above it!

~The Exit~

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Binhammer! We had the best time planning and celebrating your special day with you!

Allison + Justin: Married & Bright

Is your Christmas tree still up or do you wish it was? Do you still have the carols stuck in your head? Are you missing the Holiday hustle and bustle already?! Then this is the wedding to help get you through to next December!

Allison & Justin's Christmas themed nuptials were greeted with the first frosty cold weekend Middle Tennessee had seen since the previous winter. With a pallet full of cranberry, golds, and greenery; a personalized hot cocoa bar, and Legacy Farm's loft packed full of white lush drapery, love and support for our couple, there were no problems keeping warm.

The loft was filled with billowing white drapery and soft touches of candlelight. The alter was outlined with gorgeous large floral arrangements and a beautiful wooden cross in the center.

Every last detail of the ceremony had a significant meaning to the bride and groom. The pre-ceremony song selected was one of Allison's late grandmother's favorite hymns, "Savior Like a Shepherd Lead Us." Allison walked down the aisle to a song she pre-recorded and sang for Justin. Since nerves were high, Allison's nephew/ring bear gave Justin a note with a reminder to listen to the song before it began, when he realized who was singing it, the look on his face was priceless! Both Justin and Allison are active in their church and service is a big part of their relationship. Their first act of service as husband and wife was a foot washing ceremony that ended with both sets of parents surrounding them in prayer.

Bridal Party

This. Bridal. Party. "Sleighed!" Get it?! The cranberry dresses were paired perfectly with the gentlemen's gray suites. The gorgeous spray of Christmas greenery mixed into the bouquets were complimented perfectly with tiny sweet cranberries. The flower girl's floral crowns were to die for and brought the holiday theme to the next level!

Justin + Allison

Whether they're in black & white or in color, you can see the love between these two. They're beautiful inside and out, through and through, and I promise you they truly soaked in every minute of this special day.

All was calm and bright with gold chargers, sequined table cloths, satin cranberry linens and beautiful chandelier light. The stockings were hung with care by the faux mantle where guests could place their cards inside and gifts were carefully placed under the tree for the bride and groom. The sweet heart table had special seating and was off set by our spectacular in-house farm tables for the bridal party. The hot cocoa bar helped keep the guests warm and toasty before they took their seats adorned with ornamental place cards. Every last details was perfect and festive and brought the reception level to glam status.

Grand Exit

We love a wedding where the bride is just as passionate about the details as the planner. A beautiful Christmas vision was brought to life and surrounded by genuine love and meaning behind every detail of the day.

*Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs.  Pipes!*

DJ vs. Live Entertainment

There are several points in the event planning process that can be stressful. Choosing your entertainment should not be one of them. When deciding what direction to go in, there are a few pros and cons to consider for whether you choose a DJ or Live Entertainment for your party.

The most popular option our couples tend to go for is the DJ. We have an established relationship with our in house entertainment here at Legacy Farms. One of the best parts in our experience working with a him is the personalized experience a he can bring to the table. During the planning process, a DJ may have several meetings with you and will get to know you and your style. They can bring their personal connection with you and your partner to the microphone to offer optimal entertainment for you and your guests.

A DJ's equipment is often times versatile enough that it can assist in amplifying your ceremony as well as your reception. Many are able to go through play lists and offer a variety of songs to meet your needs. That means if you are ready to Juju on that beat, they can make it happen!

A great DJ relies on a great personality. It is imperative that they are able to engage your crowd and feel out the best times to make announcements, change the mood, etc. Being able to anticipate what should happen next to keep the party alive is a natural gift and not one that can be easily obtained. Choosing your DJ should be done with as much careful consideration as any other important detail chosen during the planning process.

~Live Band~

A live band can offer the experience of pure entertainment to your guests. Live performers will do just that, perform! Even your guests who won't be getting up on the dance floor, will enjoy the show. Often times, live bands present a personalized and specific style that creates an instant fan base your guest will rave over.

Live bands have live personalities that can light up a room. Your guests will love the interaction and one of a kind experience a band can offer. Nothing gets a crowd up and dancing like a great show! No need for any improvisation with a band, they are generally well rehearsed professionals that have no problem wowing a crowd.

This option tends to usually be more expensive. While the experience can be unique, there is often times need for breaks, causing a break up in the performance. Bands are usually comfortable with a certain style and only perform that style limiting your song choices and change ups during the party. Many of the typical wedding reception dances that gets everyone out of their seats are not in a live band's playlist of options.

Generally, a couple usually knows exactly what type of entertainment wanted prior to going into the planning process. Whether it is a DJ or Live Band you can't go wrong if you have a fun and happy crowd! Take the time to consider you and your guests personalities to decide the best fit for both. Happy Planning!

Hilary + Jake: Beauty & The Captain

It is not often we get to be a small part of a couple's history. Hilary's brother was married right here at Legacy Farms just a few years ago. Hilary & Jake shared a dance at their wedding right here on our Event Center floors, long before their wedding day!

A Veteran's Day wedding was quite fitting for this couple. Jake is a United States Army Captain and serves our country and his bride well. Hilary is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. When you get the opportunity to plan a wedding for a couple as beautiful as this, the decor and setting is just an added feature to an already stunning union.

~Bridal Party~

Bridal parties this good looking should be illegal folks! The ladies' striking lilac dresses paired with their plum and burgundy bouquets complimented a group of groomsmen adorned in the strapping dress uniform.

The loft ceremony was perfectly warm and inviting on this chili November day. The mantle draped in florals and greenery was complete with the fireside lanterns and candle light throughout the room.

As Hilary walked down the aisle, there was not a dry eye in the vicinity. Both waited all day to see each other and the moment was finally here. Vows were exchanged and tears were shed. A beautiful beginning to an already perfect day.

The perfect way to welcome Captain & Mrs. Jake Allen into the Event Center's reception space was a saber sword entrance. Rustic lanterns, burgundy/cream  tones, log slices, Italian string lighting, and a hot cocoa bar warmed up a cool evening to start the party!

Mary + Ryan: How to Bring "Glam-Chic" to a Rustic Setting

If there were ever a wedding to school you on how to bring the glam to the party, Mary & Ryan's wedding would be it! Mary's vision for her special day had so many intricate details. Black and white stripes were front and center, paired with multiple shades of pink flowers, rose gold accents, glitter and even a PINK cadillac! The Event Center at Legacy Farms turned its chic on high with trumpet vases dripping with gems on king's tables, chandeliers, sparkling linens, and draping and up lighting to accent.

Along with it being a day full of glamour, it was a day full of love. Every last detail came through so the couple could enjoy a beautiful day with the many people surrounding them that loved them. Enjoy your exclusive sneak peek of Mary & Ryan's June wedding!

~The Flowers~

While the floral arrangements were a starring factor themselves, can we please talk about that pink cadillac?!

Aside from the radiant bride herself, nothing was raved about as much as this beauty!

Aside from the radiant bride herself, nothing was raved about as much as this beauty!

~The Ceremony~

The time finally came for the ceremony. The alter was complete with flowers outlining a drapery made arch. All of the petals were put into place ready for Mary's walk down the aisle to meet Ryan and begin their forever.

~The Reception~

This reception had it all. The meal from A Catered Affair looked as good as it tasted on the vintage china at each setting. Guests had their fun with props on vintage and funky furniture for their photo booth take-aways. The gold flatware, sparkling and shimmering linens, the candelabras, chandeliers, & floral arrangements reminded the guests that even though they were about to party in the event center's rustic space, the glamorous details made it a classy affair.

~The Exit~

After a glow stick send off, the couple exited in the pink Cadillac. Even the exit made a classic statement that tied together every last detail of this glamorous and chic event.

Jessica + Jason: Love, Marriage, & a Special Guest

On the last day of April, as the Tennessee heat was just setting in and the threats of rain were almost behind us, our amazing couple Jessica & Jason said their "I Do's" at Legacy Farms.   The rain held off long enough to get our radiant bride down the aisle to the covered pier where Jason and their guests were waiting.

The bright pops of color and beautiful sparkly details throughout the reception hall shined almost as bright as these two shine for each other. It was an amazing day that started off with a message on display for all to see: "Welcome to Our Beginning."

Perfect way to do a "First Look" when you want to capture that raw moment, but still wait until THE moment.
